When you have been battered or broken- possibly even brainwashed and with every turn, hurt– how can you possibly TRUST again? Finding the courage to walk away, leave, or start a new chapter of your life can be the scariest moments of your life. Then you hear people say, “Just turn to Jesus, He will never leave you nor forsake you.” So inwardly you feel and ponder, “Where was Jesus when I was being bruised and broken emotionally, physically, and mentally?” This may be hard to swallow, but Jesus was there! He was aching alongside of you; however, He allowed the suffering to happen. It is so difficult to grasp that Jesus can love me beyond measure, yet He will allow such pain in my life. YES! Why do people suffer so immensely while others seem to have it easy in life? I cannot answer those questions, but I do know, Jesus is waiting with open arms to accept you in your brokenness so He can restore you and use your life for a purpose greater than you can imagine! A purpose that will give God glory!
What if Jesus hurts me too? As you grow in a personal relationship with Him, He will guide you, teach you about trusting Him, and reveal the purpose He has for your amazing life. Will you still have hurt in life? Sadly, many times because we live in a lost world- the world and the people will always disappoint along the way. But know this, your life was not created for someone to abuse you or use you! Your life was created for an awesome purpose of looking back and saying, “As difficult as my journey was, now I see how God used it for His glory to help someone else who is now walking in those same shoes.”
In Genesis 50:20 it says, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
