About Mary

1506284_577562545664569_837773557_oHi, my name is Mary.

I am a Southern gal through and through and live in the outskirts of Memphis, TN.  I love the Lord and I absolutely love that he decided to breathe the gift of writing into my life so I can use my gifts of encouragement to encourage other Moms, Dads, and you!

I am excited as I continue writing books to include:  A Rose with Broken Thorns, Esperanza’s Story  which is a biography about my mother.  The purpose of thorns on a rose is to protect its beauty from predators.  When the thorns are broken, the rose is vulnerable.  My mom grew up as a child in deep poverty in Guatemala, but dreamed of living in the land of opportunity- America.  Esperanza’s vulnerability made her a victim of abuse as her dream was realized and she became an abused woman and a wife to an American man, her predator.  She escaped this barbaric abuser and even though many scars remained, this rose was given supernatural thorns so she could fulfill her purpose of establishing a mission in Guatemala, the home she once longed to escape.  She spreads her beautiful aroma by sharing her love for Christ and asks, “Won’t you be another rose I can add to my basket and present to Jesus one day?”

For some beautiful reason, I started my writings with poetry and published in 2011 Potter’s Hand Poetry which is a love story between Jesus and me.  I hope to use my poetry writings to help me as I am writing lyrics for new songs.

Today, I am writing murder mystery’s like Delta Heat, a suspense thriller Submissive Wife, Since my daughter, who is my miracle child, has asked many times when she is getting a book, I have recently had a title come called Her Heart’s Desire, A Longing To Be A Mom, but I am slowly writing this as I weave in stories of amazing women who have not given up on having a child and finding out, God’s ways are always best!

And I am super excited about my writing project, R.A.M. In The Bush, a love story of a man with autism, Reed, who is willing to give up an organ to a friend who was like his second Mom. He has always had a deep love for her daughter, Rebecca.  In an abusive marriage, Rebecca finds out she cannot have children, but God has other plans as he weaves Reed’s act of kindness into Rebecca’s life and changes both lives forever!

Now I am just waiting for God’s perfect timing in opening up doors for the right agents to pick up some of these books that I am eager and proud to share with the world….especially my Mom’s story!

As a Mom, I fail everyday, but God picks me up and reminds me he has given me the greatest blessing in having a child or children who call me Mom.  For me M.O.M. can easily stand for ….Making Opportunities Matter.  My children teach me and I teach them.  We learn this together which makes it more enjoyable because “When we stumble, we make it part of the dance”.

So if you enjoy encouragement and sharing, then I hope you will join me as we help because “I am a Mom, You are a Mom, We all need a Mom!”

Just journeying …

Mary
