In the middle of this battlefield where the war is real
It becomes chaos, coupled with fear, for here lies still
A brave soldier tends to another fallen brave soldier who is wounded indeed
For this fallen soldier displayed such courage and bravery as in combats his troops he did lead
Agony and pain from each of the wounded is felt so deep
As these are painful memories that brave soldiers will forever keep
And the soldier looks up to tell fellow soldiers as he holds the fallen soldier in his arms with a tight embrace
As a red tear falls from his eye for the blood of the fallen soldier had fallen on his very face
The red tear signifies a life filled with sacrifice and love
A kind of bravery only given from God above
May God reach down and wipe away every red tear
As he whispers “It is finished and now it is time to come home my son so dear
The years passed and the brave soldier is playing with his little girl outside
As she asks to get on his 4 wheeler for just one more ride
The girl’s daddy greets her as he bends down with loving arms open wide
And she runs as fast as she can only to trip and fall on a big rock laying at her daddy’s side
She begins to cry and he picks her up and notices blood coming from a small gash upon her face
And flashes back in time when a red tear brings memories he can never erase
May God reach down and wipe away every red tear
As he whispers “It is finished and now it is time to come home my son so dear”
Flashbacks become so real and it doesn’t feel much like a dream
More and more flashbacks of Jesus being nailed to a cross, a fairy tale to many it seems
Jesus looks up to tell the two others upon their own cross
I have come to save all who are lost
As he speaks, blood falls from the thorn- pierced crown, a final act of pure cruelty they put him through
Forming red tears that fall from his eyes as he says, “Forgive them for they know not what they do”
The red tears signify a life filled with sacrifice and love
A kind of courage and bravery only given from his Father above
And God picks him up and wipes away every red tear from his son’s face
As Jesus whispers, “It is finished” and closes his eyes showing the world God’s ultimate grace…
