I came across someone sharing their fortune with everyone on social media as if they held on to it for dear life that somehow they could find hope in a few short words like:
A big surprise will come your way in the next few weeks
You are destined to do great things
You will find your soul mate in the coming months
and bla bla bla
Well, here is some truth for you and not a fortune for you. It doesn’t bring forth false hope, but truth in every page. It is the Word of God.
So do you need some scriptures to hold on to? You can even make them into strips and place them in cute little cookies for your children to pull out and read and claim God’s amazing promises:
“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people that are like these children.” Matthew 19:14
“In all work you are doing, work the best you can. Work like you are working for the Lord, not for people.” Colossians 3:23
“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Do you see the difference? These are very specific promises that we can claim for our own lives when we open our hearts to Jesus and allow him to come in and save us by asking for forgiveness while we repent from our past sins and He will make us a new creation so he can begin living in and through us.
Don’t turn to people or politics or books or anything this world has to offer with a purpose to find hope. Only true fulfilling-life-changing HOPE can be found in Jesus!
