Don’t worry about tomorrow…

scalepicWorry brings tomorrow’s clouds over today’s sunshine.  Why worry about tomorrow when we have not been guaranteed it?  I know it is easier said than done and it takes prayer and practice.  We are guaranteed today, so why not start it off great…in thanksgiving and prayer.  Quickly in your mind, maybe even using your ten fingers, name off 10 things you can be so grateful for today.  You and I should have so much gratefulness coming from our mouths that it would be really hard to stop at ten.

Do you have something coming up on your calendar and you find yourself weighted down with worry?  See this is a clever trick by Satan to keep you from being all you can be, today, and to steal your joy of this given day when he knows we never know when our tomorrow will not come for us. God may have already planned to place someone in your life today because they needed to hear encouragement or how much they are loved by God.  Instead, because of our own selfishness, we lose this opportunity because “this future worry” is so present today.  Leave it where it belongs..in the future!

Today, give your worry back to the Lord and ask him to keep your eyes focused only on Him which will take away worries for the future.  When we do this, we tend to be more joyful and relaxed and less stressed because we have laid all these unnecessary worries at his feet.  We can stand up taller because we are not weighted down with something that may never even come.  We will recognize amazing blessings God has so carefully orchestrated to be in our world today and only today! And, in return, we will be more grateful instead of less grateful… and we may even be a pound lighter on the scale because we lost all the worry that weights us down!

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own”…Matthew 6:34
